Ahoy, friends! Our popular Folly Beach Mermaids & Mateys Event is back for 2022! Round up the buccaneers and strap on a tail (if that's your thing) and come celebrate the sea and all its treasures with us.

We are proud to partner with the Alzheimer's Association - South Carolina Chapter again as we work to "Paint Folly Purple" in our best under the sea wear and raise money for this very special local charity!

Under the Sea Dance - Friday 9.23.22 7 - 9:30pm - The Loft at St. James Gate
- The weekend will kick off with the private rental of the Loft at St. James Gate! DJ Miketech spinning the music, Under the Sea Theme, pictures with the Folly Beach Mermaid, light appetizers, and a complimentary drink upon entrance!
- You MUST be 21 or over to attend the Under the Sea dance!
Breakfast with the Mermaids - Saturday 9.24.22 - 9 - 10am - Rita's
- The Folly Beach Mermaid and some other members of her pod are on site for pictures and handing out treasurers. Special VIP entrance at the Arctic gate with special passes, table settings and more!
- All ages are welcome for "Breakfast with the Mermaids"
- Table reservations will only be held for a 10 minute grace period after 9am.
- PLEASE LIMIT ONE TABLE PER GROUP.
Salty Saturday Street Closure
- Center Street will be closed on "Salty Saturday" and taken over by Folly establishments and local vendors! What's an event without some competition? Mermaids and Mateys will feature a costume contest for families and adults. Complemented by local bands, 50+ Folly art, craft, and fashion vendors, and a robust kid area, Mermaids & Mateys will have something for everyone!
  
  The streets will close at 7am and reopen at 6:00pm; but are open to the public from 10am - 4pm. Admission is $9 in advance [and $14 at the door], but is free for Folly residents (must show valid drivers license) and kids 12 and under are free.
  
  Costume Contests: Dress up as a Mermaid, Matey or your favorite Under the Sea character! Prizes to be awarded!
  
  Live Music: Mermaids & Mateys will have three (3) stages showcasing Folly musicians at East Erie & Huron. Additional details regarding the lineup coming soon!
  Kids Area: Check out the Mermaids and Mateys under the sea kids area by Good Clean Fun with magicians, sand crafts, glitter body paint and more! There will also be free inflatables for games and jumping fun!
