Virtual Taste Passport: Friday January 14th - Monday January 31st - Beyond our scheduled events below we will also have the "Virtual Taste Passport" again this year! Upon purchase, visit participating locations and scan their QR code to be entered into drawings. The more establishments you visit; the more drawings you will be entered in to win prizes including overnight stays on the island, kayak and golf cart rentals, restaurant gift cards and more!
Cocktail Competition: Friday January 14th - The weekend will kick-off with the Cocktail Competition on Friday at the Tides in the Pavilion Ballroom from 7-10pm! This battle of the bartenders will showcase the beach's best mixologists making delicious craft cocktails! Tickets are $24 ahead of time and $30 the day off! This event has limited ticketing and will likely sell out. All cocktails in the competition are included!
Cocktail Competition Entry Requirements:
Must be 21 years old to enter. A vaccination card (digital or hard copy) with matching identification card OR proof of a negative Covid test within 48 hours of attendance.
Savory Saturday: Saturday January 15th - Center Street will be closed on "Savory Saturday" and taken over by Folly establishments to serve up their best dishes and exhibit their skills through live demonstrations. What's an event without some competition? Taste will feature a Hot Dog Eating, Oyster Shucking Contests and the Server Olympics. Complemented by local bands, 40+ Folly art, craft, and fashion vendors, and a robust kid area, Taste of Folly will have something for everyone! Tickets will be $15 the day-of for Savory Saturday
The streets will close at 7am and reopen at 6:00pm; but are open to the public from 10am - 4pm. Admission is $9 in advance [and $14 at the door], but is free for Folly residents (must show valid drivers license) and kids 12 and under are free.
Cooking Demonstrations: Select restaurants will have live demonstrations at their booths throughout the day. More info on the demonstration and times coming soon!
Hot Dog Eating Contest: On the Ashley stage starting at 1pm, you will enjoy some great entertainment on a January afternoon. Free to enter, sign-up in advance online!. Prizes given to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners.
Oyster Shucking Contest: Come show off your shucking skills during prime oyster season, starting at 2:30pm on the Ashley Stage.
Live Music: Taste will have two (3) stages showcasing Folly musicians at East Erie & Huron. Additional details regarding the lineup coming soon!
Kids Area: Check out the Kids Kitchen by Good Clean Fun with Pots & Pans Percussion, pasta making, and more! There will also be free inflatables for games and jumping fun!
