To provide hope and relief to families living with Alzheimer's Disease or a Related Dementia (ADRD) through support services such as respite care, support groups, education, caregiver consultations, resource referrals and community development.

(About the Dance Fundraiser)

Over 475 people attended the 2018 Dancing with The ARK's Stars on March 10. Net proceeds of $102,000 were raised to help local Alzheimer's families find hope and relief. Proceeds from this event allow us to continue to provide services and education to families living with Alzheimer's and related dementia in the community.

"The evening was magical. The celebrity dancers continue to 'wow' us with their successful and creative fundraising ideas that brings focus and awareness to The ARK's mission and services," said Peg Lahmeyer, Executive Director of The ARK. "Their professional partners are incredible with their fun, gorgeous and mystical choreography. The ARK staff and all the volunteers work so hard and are committed each year to make this our most successful fundraiser."

Janice Stephens Jolly and professional partner Shi Johnson took home the Mirror Ball trophy as The People's Choice winner. Jolly raised more than $18,000. Elizabeth Donehue and professional partner Shi Johnson received the Judges' Choice trophy for their beautiful performance of the Tango.

"It was an amazing night and great to see the support of the community for such an important cause. Everyone did a fantastic performing, said Megan Severn, Development Director of The ARK. Our celebrity dancers did such a phenomenal job fundraising and creating awareness about The ARK leading up to the event".

A big thank you to all of our celebrity dancers, our professional dance partners from Ballroom Dance Charleston, our incredible volunteers, everyone who voted and came to the event. This was an amazing evening because of all of you! We are so thankful for our fantastic sponsors and supporters.
